About me

I’ve held a life-long interest in Psychology, and gained my bachelors degree in this area at University.

After several years in the corporate world, I trained as an Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapist at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) in London, graduating with a postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I work both online and in-person, at a beautiful location by Regent’s Canal in Little Venice, London W9.

My fees are £80 per session, but I also set aside a number of hours each week for low cost therapy, to ensure that those with limited financial means, including trainee therapists, can access the professional help they need.

I am accredited with Full Clinical Membership of UKCP, and as a Registered Member of BACP and am bound by, and adhere to, the code of ethics of both organisations. I am also a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society.

My Approach

I work integratively, which means that I strive to combine the best aspects of the various modalities of psychotherapy - Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Existential - for the benefit of my clients.

Beyond this, I embrace the Transpersonal approach, which takes a modern view on issues of spirituality and what it means to be human, to be conscious, and our place in the Universe.

Depending on the client, I might use art work, guided meditations, visualisations, and any creative methods that help a client connect with their deeper sense of inner wisdom and knowing. I especially enjoy working with dreams.

My parents came to the UK from India in the 1960’s. I have a deep interest in issues of race, religion, and culture, within the framework of Intersectionality, and the challenges that can arise as a result, and this informs my work. I am a member of BAATN, which seeks to advance mental health care for the UK’s minority communities.

Psychotherapy

How we experience ourselves, other people, and the world in general, is unique to each of us.

Through psychotherapy, you can make significant and lasting beneficial changes in your life, and I can provide the reflective space and conditions needed to explore what troubles you, and through this, gain the insight and understanding that enables you to make the changes you need.

I have worked with clients who have sought therapy for the following reasons:

  • Relationship and family problems

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Low self-esteem

  • Life Crisis and Existential concerns

  • Bereavement

  • Abuse

  • Long-term illness

  • Anger issues

  • Sexual identity

  • Sexual dysfunction

  • Fetishes

  • Dream analysis

Initial Consultation

If you wish to discuss the possibility of working together, then I will offer you a free 20 minute audio/video call to explore your therapy requirements and how I might be able to help you. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about therapy.

If we are both happy to proceed, we would arrange an initial assessment session, where we would take a more in-depth look at the challenges you are facing, and what you might need from therapy.

We would then agree a regular weekly time, and a number of sessions to begin with, and review progress regularly. There is no correct or typical number in terms of how many sessions any individual will need.
